Middle East Expert Forum on NPWT in infected wounds: an overview

<p>Over the past 15 years, negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) has revolutionised care for many patients with chronic and acute wounds. This success has prompted development of numerous new NPWT systems. In 2015, a group of clinicians from the Gulf region met in Dubai to discuss the role of NPWT in the management of infected wounds. A consensus document published in 2016 — ‘Middle East expert forum on NPWT in infected wounds: Proceedings from the Wounds International Middle East expert forum’ — represents the views of these experts, providing recommendations for use of NPWT in preventing and treating infections in a range of wound types.</p>
